1. Who we are
Atlas Universities is operated by K M Fazle Rabbi ("we," "us," or "our"). For privacy inquiries, contact us via kmfazle.dev.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. The Service does not require account registration. If you contact us directly, we receive whatever information you choose to send (such as your name and email).
Information stored on your device. Saved universities and filter preferences may be stored in your browser's local storage so the feature works on return visits. This data stays on your device unless you clear it.
Usage and technical data. We may collect limited technical information such as page views, approximate referrer, browser type, and device characteristics through privacy-respecting analytics tools if enabled. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal categories (such as government IDs or precise geolocation) through the core Service.
Public education data. Institution records displayed on the map are derived from public federal datasets (for example, IPEDS). That data describes institutions, not you.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Remember saved institutions and filter states in your browser
- Understand aggregate usage patterns and fix errors
- Respond to inquiries and enforce our terms
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing (such as the EEA/UK), we rely on legitimate interests to operate an educational reference tool, your consent where required (for example, non-essential cookies), and compliance with law where applicable.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers who help host or analyze the site (for example, hosting or analytics vendors), subject to contractual protections. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
6. Retention
Server logs and analytics, if collected, are retained only as long as needed for operations and security. Local storage on your device persists until you clear site data in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us via the website above. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International users
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
